On Monday, December 12, LCMS and its GEAR-UP program will be hosting a dinner at 6:00 P.M. in the cafeteria for 8th graders and their families. As part of this event, 8th grade students will be showcasing their work from their National Parks projects. During the dinner, guest speakers from KY Department of Fish and Wildlife will share information about their careers in the parks, will talk about promoting Kentucky's outdoors, and will discuss how students can pursue a similar type of job both in and outside of the park and wildlife realm.
Following the dinner and guest speaker presentations, students and families are invited down the "National Mall" hall to the library to view the student work. The hall will be decorated like the National mall in Washington, D.C., and the library will be set up to mimic the geographic locations in the U.S with California and the west coast on the far left and Florida on the lower right. Student writing and physical displays will be placed in the location of the parks around the room. Please come join us in celebrating our National Parks and the hard work of our students!
