HOW WILL INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS BE PROVIDED?
A paper copy of all assignments for up to 5 Patriot Days will be sent home for all students in early December. Students need to keep these in a safe place so they can access them when a Patriot Day is called. Students with internet access may be able to complete work from home or at another location, such as the Lincoln County Public Library, using educational programs that are familiar to your child. Electronic copies of the assignments will also be available on the district and school websites.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON A PATRIOT DAY?
- When the decision is made to have a Patriot Day, a School Messenger call will be sent out notifying families. (Ex. Tomorrow, January 8 will be Patriot Day #1. Students will not report to school. Please have your student complete the assignments for Patriot Day #1 and return them when school is back in session or no later than 1 week from today.) Patriot Days will also be announced through radio, television, the district website and Facebook.
- Teachers will be available to answer questions and help students between 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Teachers will be available via email and/or telephone and will respond to both student and parent questions during the above hours. Contact information will be included with the student Patriot Day materials.
- Completed work must be returned no later than one week from the Patriot Day.
Important Note: Students must participate in the Patriot Days by completing their work and returning it in order for the Kentucky Department of Education to approve the day to not be made up at the end of the year.
We are excited about this opportunity for Lincoln County Students!
