Every Student, Every Classroom, Every Day -- Preparing for College/Career & Citizenship Readiness
The staff at Lincoln County Middle is very excited to welcome your child to the 2017-18 school year. We are ready for your student to have a wonderful middle school experience and we have spent several days preparing for the instructional activities that will engage your child in the learning process. I would like to give you a few hints and suggestions that will help you and your child have a successful school year.
First, make sure that your child attends school every day and is on time to school. Good attendance is vital for student success and is the single most important factor in student learning. Students are more likely to succeed academically and to become involved in extra-curricular activities when in attendance on a regular basis. Students also learn how to be contributing members of the community when in regular attendance to school.
Second, we want to encourage you to read the entire handbook that has been prepared for the students. This will answer questions that you might have about the upcoming school year and it will outline some things such as PBIS, student expectations, parent expectations, teacher expectations as well as some policies. The students will be required to have this book with them at all times while at school. It will be used to write assignments/homeworks and it will also serve as the hall pass for your child if they need to be out of class for any reason.
Finally, I want to encourage you to be active in your child’s education. There are many ways in which you can do this and it will show your child that you truly care about their well being and opportunity for education. I suggest that you ask your child about their day when they return home and require them to write assignments/homework in their handbook. I also suggest that you require your child to have a designated place in the home to sit down each evening to study or do homework assignments. I look forward to working with each of you in order to give your child and our students the best education possible. Go Eagles!
