News Release from Infinite Campus

Delay...Campus Student and Campus Parent Apps

The new apps will not be available Monday, September 17 as planned. We regret this delay and apologize for any inconvenience.

Two issues were identified this weekend that would have caused your parents and students to have a poor experience if they came across them. Both issues have been addressed and new versions of the apps are in the release process, as is an update to Campus District Edition version 1833 (customers on this version will receive a separate email).

When will the new apps be available?

We expect the new apps to be available in the app stores later this week. Both the Apple App Store and Google Play have release processes outside our control. As soon as the stores complete their release processes, the new apps will appear for download by students and parents. Thank you for your patience.

Welcome Back to School WELCOME TO ANOTHER GREAT START OF SCHOOL

As another school has started, our students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in education, one of the most important human endeavors. Children have another year to acquire more knowledge, develop their minds and build on their character. Even though it’s hard to believe the summer vacation is over, the start of a school should be seen as an opportunity to start afresh -- the way we consider spring the season of rebirth, growth and optimism. Welcome back to a new school year!

The Lincoln County Schools is excited to start a new school year with you. We are very pleased that our district has a well-earned reputation in the community to its commitment of fostering academic excellence while consistently focusing on creating positive social relationships. At Lincoln County Schools, we are working together in creating a child-centered learning community that involves each and every adult who interacts within a child’s life. Acting as our students’ advocates is a part we all play to ensure they reach their fullest potential. The greatest gift that we can bestow upon the children is to create an outstanding school atmosphere which will leave an enduring impression on their educational lives. It is from their first experiences of school that we will work together to foster a love of learning and the ability to build long-lasting social relationships. On their paths to becoming lifelong learners, we will provide them with a remarkable series of experiences, so, that they too, can see just how important a role the adults in their lives play. The skills that our children learn at the Lincoln County Schools will lead to future success.

Attendance Policy Update

attendance mattersThe Lincoln County Board of Education recently amended the attendance policy. Families need to be aware that the medical use form is no longer part of the attendance protocol. Students will continue to have 10 absences that can be excused by a note from the doctor.

Students will continue to have six absences and six tardies that can be used for personal reasons. We encourage parents to send a note with their student upon their return. If a note is not received from the parent/guardian, the school may automatically excuse the absence. Parents will continue to receive a daily call.

If you have further questions please refer to the Lincoln County Student Handbook or contact Brandi Hon, Director of Pupil Personnel at brandi.hon@lincoln.kyschools.us

Reminder of Immunization Requirements

Immunization RequirementsIn June of 2017 the Kentucky Department for Public Health passed new immunization regulations that will directly affect all school aged children. Below are the new regulations.

One new age-specific immunization requirement and one booster dose requirement

effective for the school year beginning on or after July 1, 2018:

  • 2-Dose Series of Hep A (Age: 12 months through 18 years)
  • Quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) booster dose (Age: 16 years)

Every child age 12 months-18 years of age will be required to have the 2-Dose series of Hep A. Also, all students ages 16 and up will be required to have a booster dose of meningococcal.

If your student has had these vaccines please check with the school nurse to make sure they have a copy on file.

The CDC as well as the Lincoln County School District is suggesting you get these vaccines scheduled as soon as possible to ensure your students compliance for the 2018/2019 school year.

Each student will have to provide their respective schools with a new KY Immunization Certificate.  If the student has a Religious Exemption, he/she will be required to provide a new Religious Exemption form which now requires a notary signature and seal.
