We are so excited to share a new districtwide initiative to encourage students and families to Read 20 minutes per night. .
Students are encouraged to read 20 minutes per night at home and they will complete a log of their reading time. Completed logs will be returned to their teacher and will allow students to be eligible for a variety of prizes at their schools.
We are kicking off this district reading initiative and would like your help in spreading the word and encouraging students to read.
Look for our yard signs around the community along with posters of educators reading at your school. Information will also be shared with and discussed at the local radio station during our twice monthly Lincoln County District Updates.
Many celebrations have been planned and will be occurring at the elementary schools across the district.
Thank you in advance for helping our students on their path to becoming life-long readers!
Reading with children for 20 minutes per day exposes them to 1.8 million words a year!
