The vision and motto of McKinney Elementary School is “Every Student, Every Classroom, Every Day -- College/Career & Citizenship Ready". Each staff member will strive to collaborate with their colleagues, parents, and the community to ensure that our school programs are efficient and effective in nurturing and challenging every child as they grow and develop academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.
The mission of McKinney Elementary School is to assure that each student acquires the knowledge, skills, and work habits to reach his/her fullest potential as a productive member of society. Individually and as a school, we will make decisions that focus on doing what is best for students, creating safe and nurturing learning environments, and honoring each child’s worth, uniqueness, and dignity.
It is our belief that every child and every adult involved in their education with appropriate resources, nurturing, and support can achieve success in a school where expectations target functioning at proficiency and beyond.
McKinney Elementary is located 9.6 miles west of Stanford in Lincoln County, Ky. McKinney is a small rural community. Our school qualifies as a Title 1 School Wide School which entitles us to plan for special services for all our students using the computer lab and additional reading services. We have been a site based school since 1991. Serving K-5th with a total population around 180 (including the preschool unit). This community is fiercely proud of it's school and the fact that the school is the origin for three of the county's school superintendents.
