institute for multi-sensory educationTeachers at work this summer while the kids are off! Lincoln County School District teachers are spending a week in the student’s seats learning a structured, sequential, multi-sensory approach to teach reading as part of their core classroom instruction to all students! The Orton-Gillingham approach incorporates the three learning pathways: auditory, kinesthetic, and visual, to allow reading instruction highly effective in teaching all students how to read, including students with risk factors for dyslexia. This in district training is being made available to all 1st grade teachers district-wide and additional teachers from every elementary school. The long-term vision is to offer this 30 hour IMSE certification training every summer until all K-3 teachers in Lincoln County are trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach. More information about the Orton-GIllingham approach can be found on their website… https://www.orton-gillingham.com/training/professional-development/
