Lincoln County High School in cooperation with county Emergency Management Services will participate in a Mock Disaster Drill this week. The drill will be an active shooter simulation, but there will be no live ammunition nor any gun shots fired. While most of the activities will be confined to the Tech Center, LCHS will be placed on lockdown for a brief period time. There will be emergency vehicles onsite during the day and EMS officials will be studying the process to suggest any changes necessary to our emergency procedures. Realizing these types of simulations may cause some students concern given recent events in the country and our state, it has become necessary for us to practice such events to ensure we are prepared. We appreciate your cooperation during this event and ask that you not come to the high school to pick up your student as access may be limited. An additional one call will go out from the high school when the lockdown begins. Again, we appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
