Advisory Council

August 19, 2013


The Lincoln County High School Advisory Council met in its regular scheduled meeting on August 19, 2013 in the LCHS Media Center office. The meeting was called to order by principal, Tim Godbey at 4:00 pm.

Opening Business

A. Agenda-The agenda was reviewed and there were no amendments.

B. Review minutes of July-The minutes were reviewed and no changes were necessary.

C. Good News Report-The FFA Livestock judging team placed 1st at the state fair.  Tanner Erlandson recited the FFA Creed at the last board meeting.  An article was to appear in the IJ on August 22 about LCHS.   

D. Public Comment-None

NOTE:  On the Title I Parent Involvement Policy School Budget does not need to reflect the 1% only the Board Policy must reflect 1%.

Budget Report


  1. Review Financial Statements for July 2013- The finances for July were reviewed.  No changes were necessary. There was a meeting held regarding the changes in the Red Book policies.  Mr. Godbey will address the staff regarding these changes at a later date.


Committee Reports



  1.  First Time Offenders Policy-This is the second reading on drug/alcohol offender’s policy.  The only information added to the policy was the criminal charges information that needed to be listed as well.    
  2.  SBDM Policy Review-The Advisory Council reviewed the following SBDM policies:  1.0101-1.0501.  The council is using the state tool.  The tool is used not only to inventory your bylaws but also to guide revisions.

New Business

  1. Updates on SIG Money-LCHS was awarded $50,000 for the 2013-2014 school year.  The $50,000 from SIG will not be released until we have assigned assurances with KDE.


            The meeting ended at 5:00 pm.
