STANFORD, KY – Oct 14, 2019
Lincoln County Schools will be celebrating National School Lunch Week and Farm to School Week October 14th through October 18th. Schools will be serving fresh foods from Kentucky farms throughout the week. All the food served is USDA certified.
Beef from Eastern Kentucky University Farms will be served Tuesday and Thursday this week. On Wednesday, chicken from a local farm in Lexington will be grilled by Smokin’ Jax and served with homemade barbecue sauce. There will also be fresh apples from Haney’s Apple Orchard and other products served this week.
Here’s a look at the special menu items:
- Tuesday- sloppy joes, baked potato, cole slaw, baked beans, fruit punch box, Haney’s fresh apples
- Wednesday- Smokin’ Jax grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce on the side, breadstick, garden salad, potato cubes, carrots with dip, Johnny Pops
- Thursday- hamburgers with all the fixings, chips, macaroni or potato salad, homemade dessert
