School Profile

     Established in August of 2006, Lloyd B. McGuffey Sixth Grade Center is the first of it's kind in the state of Kentucky and serves as a transition center for the districts 300+ sixth graders.  The school sits adjacent to Lincoln County Middle School and Lincoln County High School.  Our school is organized around exemplary middle level education principles, including rigorous core classes of language arts, science, social studies, and math.  Our encore classes afford students the opportunity to experience health/PE, reading, math skills, art, and music educatioin in an environment conducive to the specific learning needs of adoloscents. 
     Our vision is for every student to reach academic proficiency in all core subjects, Arts/Humanities, Practical Living/Career Studies, demonstrate a positive work ethic,effective communication skills, and exhibit a respectful attitude.  The mission of our staff is to ensure student success through a process of rigorous instruction, consistent monitoring, and systematic intervention.
