Graffiti Threat Closes School on Monday, Nov. 2

On Sunday, November 1, 2015, a written threat stating, “You getting shot down Monday 10”  along with a pair of scissors with the word “Die” was discovered on the columns and sidewalk of Crab Orchard Elementary School.  Mrs. Hatter, superintendent of Lincoln County Public Schools, along with local law enforcement, emergency management system personnel, and the Kentucky State Police immediately responded and proceeded to investigate.  Together, these officials decided that district schools close the following day, Monday, November 2.  While we realize that this decision is unexpected and an inconvenience for everyone, we believe it is better to err on the side of caution and cancel school while the Kentucky State Police investigates the incident.

In addition, since this action adversely affects so many individuals, we are asking for the community's help and assistance. If you or someone that you know has any information that would help in identifying the perpetrators of this incident, please call the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or 1-859-623-2404.
