Stanford Elementary Teacher Sends Face Shields to Former Student

Former Lincoln County High School student Maggie Peck

40 UK Good Samaritan Hospital employees  recently received face shields made by Stanford Elementary teacher Chris Woolums.

One of the employees that received the face shield was 2017 Lincoln County High School graduate Maggie Peck. Peck also was a student of Mr. Woolums at Stanford Elementary.

Maggie earned her CNA at the Lincoln County Area Technology Center while a student at LCHS. She is now a student at Bluegrass Community & Technical College and an employee at UK Good Samaritan.

Peck’s work unit is training this month to be one of the teams to work at the field hospital at the Nutter Field House on the University of Kentucky campus should they need to open it up due to a surge in COVID-19 patients.

Mr. Woolums has been making face shields using the Stanford Elementary 3D printer since the pandemic started. He made face shields for the the Lincoln County Health Department last month for them to distribute locally.
