Petrey family

Lincoln County Schools is pleased to announce Brad Petrey as the new Athletic Director for the district. Petrey will be replacing Tim Estes who is set to retire from the position later this month. 

Coach Petrey has been teacher for Lincoln County Schools for the past 21 years and is currently the home hospital teacher for the district. Along with teaching, Brad is currently an assistant coach for the high school basketball team and has also coached middle school baseball, high school baseball and middle school girls basketball over the past 22 years. 

“After 22 years of coaching, I am excited for the next chapter working for all the student athletes and coaches in Lincoln County,” said Petrey who will be resigning from his assistant high school boys basketball coaching position per the requirements of the AD job. “I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in the future. My goal is to help continue the tradition and success that is Lincoln County Athletics.”

Brad and his wife Heather have been married for 20 years and have two children, Kelby and Jason, that attend Lincoln County High School. He enjoys camping, boating, golfing and cheering on the Patriots and the Kentucky Wildcats in his free time. 

Superintendent Michael Rowe said, “We are excited about Mr. Petrey and the experience he brings to the AD role. Tim (Estes) has done a fantastic job these past few years and has left all of our programs in great shape. I want to personally thank Tim and we wish him the best with his retirement, and we are very excited to see where Brad takes us going forward.”

Petrey will assume his new role as Athletic Director starting July 1st. Superintendent Michael Rowe said the district is working through the process of selecting the new Assistant Athletic Director too and hopes fill the position next week now that Petrey has been named AD.
