Julia Duncan

Lincoln County Schools is excited to announce Julia Duncan has been named the principal at Stanford Elementary. Mrs. Duncan will be replacing James Carrier who is leaving the position at the end of June. 

Julia has been the assistant principal at Stanford Elementary for the past five and a half years and an employee of Lincoln County Schools since 1999. She started her teaching career at Crab Orchard Elementary School then moved to Stanford Elementary in 2005. 

 

Superintendent Michael Rowe said, “I’m excited for the students, staff and for Mrs. Duncan. Her stability and knowledge of the school and community are huge assets and will help tremendously as the school moves forward.” 

 

Duncan is a 1995 graduate of Garrard County High School. She attended Eastern Kentucky University for undergraduate and graduate work. Julia, and her husband Brian, reside in Stanford with their two children Roxy and Liam. They are members of Unity Baptist Church in Danville. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, dancing, reading and visiting the beach. 

 

“I am both humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to serve the students and families of Stanford Elementary in this new role,” said Principal Duncan. “I look forward to continuing the work of educating our students, helping them see how amazing they are, and watching them grow with the help of our dedicated and caring Wildcat staff. I have loved my time in this building and I’m so excited to start my 23rd year as a Stanford Wildcat!” 

 

Mrs. Duncan said she’s looking forward to being able to continue to work with elementary principal team (Magnificent 7) in the district.  She will move over from her role as assistant principal of SES to principal of SES on July 1st.
