In Kentucky, each school has a governing site-based council comprised of the principal, three elected teachers, and two elected parents who analyze and create the policies and procedures that govern daily school operations.

We need a parent member for the remainder of the 2023 academic school year. The parent members of the council are elected by the legal guardians of students and receive subsequent training. Any adult who is the legal guardian of a Hustonville Elementary student is eligible to serve, and all parents are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and actively engage in school functions and activities.

SBDM Parent Criteria required to be an SBDM parent member:
--My child attends Hustonville Elementary.
--I am my child's parent, stepparent, or foster parent (or I am the child's legal guardian and the child lived with me).
--I am not an employee of Hustonville Elementary.
--I do not work at the Lincoln County Student Support Center.
--I am not the husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, or uncle of any employee of Hustonville Elementary.
--I am not a member of the local board of education, and neither is my spouse.
