At last night’s Lincoln County Board of Education Meeting, the board voted to accept the resignation of District 4 Board Member Lisa Gillem. The resignation is effective immediately.
The Lincoln County Board of Education discussed the process and timeline for selecting a board member to fill the District 4 board vacancy at last night’s meeting.
KRS 160.190 states the vacancy must be filled by a majority vote of the remaining members of the local board within 60 days. Interested applicants must submit their application with supporting documentation to the Lincoln County Board of Education located at 305 Danville Avenue, Stanford, KY in a sealed envelope marked “Board Member Vacancy” by 4:00 pm on June 16, 2025. The person selected to fill the vacant board seat will hold the position until the November (2025) election. The person elected then will fulfill the remaining three years of the term set to end on December 31st, 2028.
