21st Century

21st Century is a federally funded grant program that provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours.  Our district is unique because we are the only county in the state to have a 21st Century grant in every school.  Our grant offers morning, afternoon, and summer programming to any kindergarten through twelfth grade student that resides in Lincoln County.

We have a Site Coordinator located at each school that oversees the program.

Breakfast Club: Our ‘breakfast club’ allows students to be dropped off before the school doors open each day.  This service runs Monday – Friday each day school is in session; drop off is between 7:15 am – 7:35 am.  Students will have academic and enrichment activities during this time and will be released to join their classmates for breakfast.  This program will start on Wednesday, August 9th.   Our maximum enrollment for each elementary and middle students is fifteen and our high school student maximum is thirty.

Afterschool Programming:  Our afterschool program offers students a variety of academic and enrichment activities.  This program runs Monday – Thursday each day school is in session and starts immediately at school day dismissal and runs until 5:45 pm.  Classes can include homework help, reading interventions, math interventions, tutoring, recreation, art/crafts, STEAM, etc.  We will also be offering ‘specials’ this year. This is a class that will change each nine weeks,  ranging from Robotics, Pottery, Culinary, etc.  Each student is offered dinner each afternoon and all elementary students can utilize our bus transportation within a mileage range. Our maximum enrollment for each elementary & middle school student is fifty and our high school is seventy-five.

We will start registering students for our program at each schools open house; however, we want to take care of our work family first, so if you’re interested in enrolling your child for either program; please contact myself or the schools 21stCentury Coordinator and we’ll pre-register your child.

If you are interested in working in our program (morning or afternoon) or have an idea for a class, please contact myself or the schools 21st Century Coordinator.
