Lincoln County Schools is pleased to announce Julie Ball as the new Director of Special Education for the district. Mrs. Ball began her career in public education in 1996 as the District Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Pulaski County Schools. She was most recently the Assistant Director of Exceptional Child and Early Childhood for Marion County Schools.
Mrs. Ball received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Deaf Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She then earned a Master’s degree in Blind and Visually Impaired Education from the University of Louisville. Later, she earned her Rank I and then an Education Specialist degree in Director of Special Education from the University of the Cumberlands. She is also President of Kentucky Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a well respected statewide non-profit organization that caters to professionals working with children experiencing hearing loss.
We are excited to welcome Mrs. Ball to the district,” said Superintendent Bruce Smith. “She has a wide array of experience in public education and will be a great resource to our staff and students here in Lincoln County. I also want to give a special thanks to Mrs. Jane Paynter, who will continue to work with the district until June, for stepping in and helping us out this year as our Interim Director of Special Education.”
She currently resides in Somerset, KY, along with her husband and her college-aged son. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Ball to Lincoln County Schools.
