Construction just wrapped up on the new all-inclusive playground at Stanford Elementary. This playground will allow children of all abilities and developmental stages to safely play and will create a nurturing environment for all students. The playground features a swing set, kitchen play area, nesting tables, ramps, slides, benches, and shades.
This project was approved by the board last August and was funded by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) grant money. Stanford Elementary was the chosen location for the new playground because the school is home to two district-wide elementary classrooms that serve children with moderate to severe disabilities who will greatly benefit from the adaptive equipment.
