Students visit the capital
Three students were selected for FRYSC Page Day to represent Lincoln County Schools on March 3, 2022; Kaylee Vergara (7th grade), Brody Baker (7th grade), and Maddie Funkhouser (10th grade).

All three students visited the State Capital and served as a Page in the House and Senate. Kaylee was the Page of Representative David Meade, Maddie assisted Representative Daniel Elliot and Brody was Page for Senator Rick Girdler.

The students were selected based on essays they wrote, highlighting the work of Lincoln’s FRYSC coordinators Mindy Stevens and Lara Heck.

Some highlights of the day included getting to walk the tunnel reserved for the legislative body, touring the capital building and annex, getting to stand behind the Speaker of the House and Senate President’s desk, and lunch at Chick-Fil-a! All three students represented the FRYSC program and their schools well.
