This monthly feature highlights Lincoln County graduates and talks about what they are doing in life now.

This month’s spotlighted alumni is Dr. Matthew Dawson. Dawson is a 1999 graduate of Lincoln County High School. After high school he received a bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky and then graduated from the UK School of Medicine. His residency was in Utah, where he was an emergency medicine resident, chief resident and fellow at the University of Utah.

He is now the CEO of Wild Health which he founded in 2019. He is also the co-owner, CEO and chief farming officer of The Kentucky Castle in Woodford County. Before that he was associate professor and director of point-of-care ultrasound instruction at UK.

Dr. Dawson was recently featured in an article in the Lane Report that discussed how his business, Wild Health, was changing the business of medicine. Wild Life is a genomics-based precision medicine company that takes a deep, data-driven approach to medicine by sequencing the DNA of every patient. Matt is also co-owner of The Kentucky Castle in Versailles. He has been the CEO of The Castle for the past four years and is also the chief farming officer at the property. They are currently growing 80% of the produce they serve at the restaurant at the property, which Dawson says he likes being involved in because it relates to his focus on health.

We are very proud of Matt, and all of his achievements in life!
