Edited to add: Any student impacted by this incident can come to Hustonville Elementary from 11 am - 2 pm on Saturday (10/29) to meet with a counselor.
At approximately 4:00PM a shooting was reported in the Moreland area. A bus with students from Hustonville Elementary was in close proximity to the incident. The bus was immediately re-routed back to Hustonville Elementary to meet with school staff. Lincoln County Sheriffs Office and KSP responded to the shooting incident while Stanford PD, Emergency Management Director Don Gilliam and SROs responded to Hustonville Elementary to meet with the students that were on board the affected bus to ensure the safety and security there.
The suspect was quickly taken into custody and the victim was transported to a medical facility with unknown injuries. This incident was not directed to the bus or any of the students on board.
Kentucky State Police is handling the investigation and no other information is available at this time.
