On January 13 and 17 the LCMS academic team competed in District Governor's Cup at Taylor County Middle School in Campbellsville. The team won first place overall with the following students placing in their events:

🏅 Science: Thomas Jones - 1st, Simon Lin - 3rd, Mason Farley - 4th
🏅 Social Studies: Easton Witte - 2nd (tie), Sophie Schuler - 2nd (tie), Thomas Jones - 4th
🏅 Language Arts: Sophie Schuler - 1st, Sadie Merrick - 2nd
🏅 Arts & Humanities: Liam Duncan - 2nd, Sadie -Merrick - 3rd, Easton Witte - 4th
🏅 Composition/Demand Writing: Sadie Merrick - 2nd, Taylor Sallee - 3rd
🏅 Future Problem Solving (FPS): 1st (Lizzie, Caisse, CJ Cockerham O’Donnell, Orion Stacy, Mason Farley)
🏅 Quick Recall: 1st (Liam Duncan (captain), Thomas Jones, Sophie Schuler, Easton Witte, Mason Farley (Captain), Simon Lin, Sadie Merrick, Blake Rogers, Brooklyn Northcutt, and Grace Shields
🏅 The other teams also awarded Lincoln County the Hume Sportsmanship Award.

Students will next compete at Regionals on Feb 9 for Comp and FPS and on Feb 14 with tests and Quick Recall.
