Logan Oney is hard at work brazing 3/8" copper refrigeration tubing in his HVAC class today. Today each student learned a necessary skill needed by all HVAC service technicians. The swaging process is used to make a permanent braze connection, and is essential in the HVAC industry.

Communication skills are a must in the workforce. Skyler Long is not only putting his skills in welding to the test. He is teaching others as well. Last week he was charged with the task of teaching (LCHS curriculum coach and mother) how to safely use the plasma cutter. Great job!

Congratulations to the LC HOSA students who competed in the regional HOSA competition at Bluegrass Community and Technical Center in Danville yesterday!
1st place-Payton Byrd and Mercedes Hensley (CPR).
2nd place-Paige Sebastian (home health).
2nd place- Lily States (cultural diversity).
2nd place- Alyssa Null (Medical assistant).
2nd place- Alyssa Null (human growth).
3rd place- Maggie Day (nutrition).
4th place- Paisley Gay (med. terminology).
4th place- Payton Byrd, Mercedes Hensley, Alexis Slone, Kelsey Martin (creative problem solving).


The new welding lab at the Lincoln County High School Technology Center is nearing completion (95% complete). Students are enrolled in classes now and will be able to use the brand new lab and equipment this semester.
Three different types of welding are being taught to students; Stick, MIG and TIG. The lab is also equipped with a plasma cutter and a 56 ton punch press and brake. Students will have the ability to weld with or without gas in the new lab also.
