Don't forget to bring your CHEESE to school on February 13th! Spring Picture Day @ Highland Elementary.

Highland Elementary's Priority Kids group met outside on this beautiful September morning to participate in the National Student Day of Prayer 'See You at the Pole' event. Thank you to Aron Neil of Eubank Baptist Church for leading our students in prayer this morning.

September's Aviators of the Month stay in the ZONE by showing RESPECT to their peers, the Highland Staff, & themselves. Way to go, Aviators!
(Not pictured: Emma Berry & Karsey Maloney)

NOTICE: Monday, September 26th, our AFTERNOON DISMISSAL car rider line procedures & layout will change.
Please refer to the posted flow map & be looking for your HES car duty crew to point you in the right direction.
We are attempting to get all of the parked traffic off of the main roads in an effort to optimize the safety & dismissal experience for our families & Highland neighbors.
THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURES.

Proud of these students for staying in the Highflyer Zone by showing kindness to their classmates & the Highland staff. Keep flying high, Aviators!

You are invited to attend the 21st Century Summer Academy at Highland Elementary!
21st Century is offering four weeks of summer programming available for all students currently in grades K-5th. Summer Academy is June 1st-June 29th and is open Monday through Friday. ALL four weeks will run daily from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided at no charge. Parent drop off will begin at 8:00 a.m. with parent pick-up at 3:00 p.m. Bus transportation is provided during these four weeks if you are within 10 miles radius of the school.
Our summer program will provide Math, Reading, Art, and STEM classes. Each class will provide hands-on activities and small group instruction, and will focus on specific areas where students struggle. Academy is NOT more school – it is an opportunity to learn in a new way and strengthen your foundation so you can start the upcoming school year ahead of the game rather than behind.
** Students with perfect attendance and good behavior will be eligible to attend planned field trips, fun days, and guest speaker assemblies.
Summer Academy has a limited capacity of 50 students. If your child is interested, please let your teacher know & we will send a registration form home to complete & return ASAP.
If you have any questions, please call Alyssa Salyers at 606-365-2768.

Students may want to bring a blanket to school that day for a little extra cozy comfort in the gym for the movie. Students can also wear pajamas if they choose.

During the month of February Highland Elementary participated in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. We are super proud of our students for taking part in this service learning project.
