Lincoln County Early Childhood program would like to congratulate our very own, Hannah Ruckel, on being awarded the 2020-21 Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award! 👏🏻
Campbellsville University began the Excellence in Teaching Award Program in 1987 with assistance from Mr. Earl Aaron and Ward, Cundiff, and Aaron Memorial Fund. The purpose of the award is to recognize quality in teaching Kentucky schools and to strengthen the field of education. It provides statewide recognition to three outstanding individuals per district (preschool/elementary, middle school, high school) for their leadership and dedication to the teaching profession.
Hannah was nominated by Brandi Hon, Lincoln County Early Childhood director and Mr. Jeff Craiger, Hustonville Elementary principal.

in work ethic, attitude, collegiality and dedication from the time she did her student teaching at McKinney Elementary 7 years ago. I have always been most impressed when in Hannah’s classroom with the calm environment she fosters for her students as well as the seamless transitions/flow in her classroom, which is no small task with 3 and 4 year olds.

Congratulations to Geneva for being Waynesburg’s Preschool Patriot of the week. 🎉 Geneva has been virtual all year until last week and has done amazing at keeping up with her work. She came into the classroom Thursday and never missed a beat! No one could have guessed she was new in the classroom. She was so excited, talked to her peers, and worked a huge floor puzzle all by herself. Mrs. Sharmon and Mrs. Tonya are very proud of her. Keep up the good work!
The student of the week in Mrs. Becky and Ms. Bethany’s class for last week was Dawson. He works so hard at home with his family to complete his NTI work. In the classroom, he is always engaged with the activities and is a joy to have in class! We are so proud of you Dawson. Keep up the good work!
A couple more Crab Orchard Cubs who have “adopted pets” during their pets theme! The children get to name them, read to them, feed them alphabet food, and measure them. 🐱🐷

Next week (March 1st--5th) is Dr. Seuss Week! Here is how Stanford Elementary School will be celebrating. We invite our early childhood kiddos to join in the fun!
The Lincoln County Public Library is hosting a Virtual Parent Cafe “STRESS-FREE MEALTIMES” on Thursday, March 18th at 6:00pm 🍽 They have put together some wonderful cooking swag bags for this event! Everyone who attends will receive a prize! To register, please call the library at (606)-365-7513.

The students in Mrs. Brittany and Mrs. Janie’s class have been working on a pets theme! Check out a few of the kiddos who have “adopted” their own pets! The students get to name them and take them home to do distance learning activities, such as reading to them, feeding them alphabet food, and measuring them. What fun!! 🐰🦀🐢🐦

This sweet Crab Orchard Cub was chosen as Mrs. Savannah and Mrs. Kim’s “Preschool Patriot of the Week!” Tori loves playing in the dramatic play center. Tori is always such a nice friend to her classmates and is willing to help anyone in need. Tori and her family have worked so hard on her virtual work.
