It is that time of year to nominate parents who you would like to see serve on Waynesburg Elementary's SBDM council for the 2026-27 school year. Two parents, three teachers, and the school principal make up the council. Click on the link below to learn more and submit nominations. You may also drop off your nominations in the front office if you choose. Nominations will be accepted through Monday, April 27th. Voting will occur Tuesday, April 28th through Friday, May 1st. A QR code will be available in the front office for parents to scan and vote. Also, the QR code will be made available during car rider pickup on Friday, May 1st. Please join us on May 7th from 5:30-7:00 pm for "Paws on the Pond" at Ruckels Pay Lake in Eubank, Ky. This free event is an evening of fishing, food, and fun. Parent/guardians must attend with student(s). If attending, please check in at the registration table to grab fishing items, enter into the fishing pole drawing, and sign a waiver. This will be a great evening to connect with our awesome Waynesburg Elementary family! (This event is for Waynesburg students and families only.)
The Kentucky Summative Assessment is coming up soon! This is the statewide test given each spring to students in grades 3–5. It measures how well students are learning key skills in reading, math, science, social studies and writing. We ask that you avoid scheduling any appointments during this time.

We are extending the deadline for the pants drive, the new deadline for donations is this Friday, March 20th. A flyer was sent home about this a few weeks back.
The suggested sizes by grade level are:
K - 1st : Small (6/7)
2nd - 3rd : Medium (8)
4th : Large (10/12)
5th: XL (14/16)
The class that donates the most pairs of pants will win a popcorn party.

A few notes about the Valentine's Dance tomorrow:
-Those attending the dance will be staying after school in their homeroom classroom until dance begins at 3:45.
-Permission slip and $5 must be turned in in order to stay.
-The dance will end at 5:00. Please line up in the regular car rider line. We will send students out to you as we do during normal car rider dismissal. Staff will be checking in with each car.
-Please bring car rider tag/ driver's license to ensure we are getting student to the right person.

With tomorrow being the day before Valentine's Day, we wanted to send a friendly reminder about any deliveries that are sent to school for students. No glass, containers with water, balloons, or large stuffed animals are permitted on the school buses. Anything sent to the school will be given at the end of the school day so instruction is not interrupted. Thank you for you understanding.

Students that have received a major office referral that resulted in an after school detention, in school suspension, and/or an out of school suspension in the current or previous 9 week grading period will not be permitted to attend those functions."
