Third grade COES students had a special guest stop by to celebrate Read Across America. Local pediatrician and author Dr. Callie Shaffer came to visit and discuss writing and illustrating her children’s book, “The Neighborwood Party”.

Hustonville Elementary recently completed a school project during where they collected snacks to distribute to first responders and hospital workers. Because of the generosity of the school they were able to complete nine baskets to deliver.

February is Black History Month. Mrs. Hampton’s and Mrs. Clontz’s 1st grade classes at COES have been making an African American History Quilt. The paper quilt is comprised of many famous individuals and lists some of their great accomplishments in life.

Happy Presidents Day

Rebecca Garcia has recently stepped into a new position for Lincoln County Schools as the GEAR UP Academic Interventionist.
This federally funded grant helps student prepare for postsecondary success. Mrs. Garcia is currently working at LCMS with 6th and 7th graders.

February 15th is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. Lincoln County Schools is very appreciative of the Stanford Police Department for providing officers to protect our schools.
