Waynesburg Elementary is looking for an AmeriCorps worker to provide mathematics intervention to 3rd-5th grade students and to provide drug prevention education to all 4th grade students. Candidates must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma/GED. Member Benefits: • The total living allowance for 2022-23 is $13,200 for a full-time member. Payments will be made bi-weekly. • Healthcare coverage, if applicable • Childcare coverage, if the member qualifies • Education award in the amount of $4,546 for full-time, 1200-hour member. • Professional development trainings (professional employment skills, soft skills, etc.), mental health awareness activities • Student loan forbearance and interest payments if the member qualifies. Tomorrow is the 25th Annual PBK Bank/WPBK-FM Death Valley Bowl at LCHS. It is also the 1st game as HC for Josh Jaggers at LC. Josh played at LCHS under his father, Marty Jaggers, in 96. The Pats will host Danville in game 2 of the bowl. Tix are $10. #ThrowBackThursday

✏️ ✏️ ✏️ Today is National #2 Pencil Day. Everyone remembers the good old #2! But do you know what the “2” actually stands for (other than being a great Scantron test taker and a mythical pencil war weapon)? The number 2 is used to classify the grade of the pencil. The infamous #2 is a middle grade pencil in the overall classification scale. A number higher than 2 means it has a harder graphite core and is often used by engineers and architects. Lower than 2 means it has a softer graphite core, softer point and a darker shade. These are often used by artists. The new welding lab at the Lincoln County High School Technology Center is nearing completion (95% complete). Students are enrolled in classes now and will be able to use the brand new lab and equipment this semester. Three different types of welding are being taught to students; Stick, MIG and TIG. The lab is also equipped with a plasma cutter and a 56 ton punch press and brake. Students will have the ability to weld with or without gas in the new lab also.
